Timothy Gordon Munford

Timothy Gordon Munford, a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, tragically passed away on January 26, 2023. Tim was born on April 24, 1985 and christened at Bethany United Methodist Church. Growing up he enjoyed many outdoor activities including Boy Scouts, football, horseback riding, and dirt bikes. He graduated from Smithfield High School, then entered the Army. Tim was a proud combat veteran who served two tours in Iraq. After serving his country, he took a position with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was promoted during that time to Quality Assurance Inspector. Tim also proudly served the VFW as a trustee. He had also recently renewed his faith and begun attending services at Smithfield Christian Church with his children. Tim was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He is predeceased by his father, Julius Munford, and his brother, John Munford. He is survived by his wife, Jessica, and his children, Shyanne, Carter, and Kaleb. He is also survived by his mother, Tammy Munford, his brother, Chris Munford, many other family members and friends, as well as his best friends, Chevelle and Julio. Rest in peace, Tim. We love you, we miss you, and we will all be together again one day. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 12 at 2 pm at Little’s Funeral Home in Smithfield. A gathering for family and friends will follow at the VFW hall also in Smithfield.
