William Eugene Ballou

William "Bill" Eugene Ballou, 61, of Smithfield, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at his home. 

Bill was born January 23, 1963. in Halifax County to the late Charlie Junior Ballou and Mary Louise Sydnor Ballou.

 Bill was a retired service technician for Canon Business Solutions. He had a deep passion for life. He loved listening to music, attending concerts, and for several years worked as a Zumba instructor part time. Bill enjoyed traveling to watch various sporting events including, Baseball, NASCAR and his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends while cooking on the grill.

 He is survived by three children, Kimberly Ballou of Silver Spring, Maryland, Isaac Ballou of Tampa, Florida, Lindsey Ballou of Smithfield, VA; his half brother Matthew Ballou and wife Rhiannon of Bunker Hill, WV; his half sister, Michelle McLaurin and husband Carroll of Hyattsville, Maryland; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

 In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Charlie Ballou. 

 In keeping with Bill's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service. Instead, a celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Buckroe Beach & Park. 2 Buckroe Ave. Hampton, VA 23664.
