Stephen Wayne Morris

Stephen Wayne Morris, 52, of Carrollton passed away on November 28, 2018, while on a delivery run to Waco, TX.  Steve was the son of Barbara Helmick Morris and the late Randell Avery Morris. He was a 1985 graduate of Butler High School and member of Hillview Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. A lifelong truck driver Steve was critically injured in an accident in 1993, for twenty years he worked to become a walking talking miracle.  In 2012, he earned his CDL for the second time and continued his dream of driving a “Big Rig”. Most recently working for Mercer Transportation.  On October 8, 2016 he married his best friend from high school Lisa Branaman Morris.  Steve is also survived by his daughter, Candace Dillihay(Aaron); sons, Ryan Nicholas Morris and Michael Johnston; sister, LeAnn Elizabeth Morris-Lee(Jeremy); brother, Sebastian Avery Morris(Christopher Taylor); Aunts, Patricia Helmick Glover(Roger) and Norma Helmick Burks, Veneta Morris and Betty Morris; mother in law Carolyn Lee Branaman; Uncle, Richard Anderson Morris; brothers and sister in laws, Kenneth Bank Branaman(Samantha), Robert Eugene Branaman(April) and Susan Lee Krydynski(Thomas); niece, Audrey Avery Lee, special friend Steven R. Morris as well as a host of extended family; and his pet cat “Maximuss”.  He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents Presley Calvin Helmick and Margaret Ellis Helmick, and James B Morris and Lorena Embry Morris.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
