Robert F. Lockhart, Jr.

Robert (Bobby) F. Lockhart, Jr, 71 of Carrollton passed away on April 2, 2019.  He was the son of the late Robert F. Lockhart, Sr and Carrie McBride Lockhart. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years Gail Neff Lockhart; daughter, Kristina R. Parsons (Ernest); son Robert F. Lockhart, III; grandchildren, Ben, Alex, and Aaron; sisters, Susan Lockhart and Deborah Beggs (David); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Lockhart served proudly in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Purple Heart.  He retired from the Virginia ABC commission after forty-two years of dedicated service.  He served on the Board of Equalization for Isle of Wight County.  He enjoyed road trips to the Amish Country, riding his Harley Roadster, shopping, playing pool, collecting antiques, and weekly bingo games at the American Legion in Smithfield.  He loved his family and was a stranger to no one.  A brief memorial service will be held on Sunday April 7, 2019, 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Carrollton Fire Department, P O Box 77, Carrollton, VA 23314.
