Robert Steele Holland

Robert Steele Holland, 92, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Williams Holland, a grandson, Chad Byrum, and a son in law Cecil Byrum. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Deborah Byrum and Julie Major (Gene); grandchildren, Steele Byrum (Erin), Styles Major (Jan) and Ashley Cowan (Darin); and great grandchildren, Josie, Mason, Silas, Kal, Vance and Weston. 

Bobby was a lifelong farmer, a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and the Baraca/Paulette Savage Sunday School Class. He loved gardening, fishing, baseball and especially the Washington Redskins. He will always be remembered for his homemade Vanilla ice cream.

 A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, 2 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church with Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception to follow in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private in Central Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
