Marian Ann Edwards

Marian Ann Thomas Edwards, 91, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025. She passed peacefully with her daughter by her side. Marian was born on February 10, 1934, in Surry County to the late William Joseph Thomas and Lily May Thomas.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marian was married 72 years to her loving husband, Dick Edwards, who passed in 2022. She is survived by her loving daughter, Diane Schuler (Bob); grandchildren, Bryan Schuler (Lindsay) and Kelly Patterson (Joey); great-grandchildren Cole, Cameron, Scarlett, Caden, and Beau. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Thomas (Nancy-deceased), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her brother William Thomas and sister Ruby Brown, predeceased her.

Marian enjoyed scrapbooking and puzzles in her spare time. She attended many of Bryan’s baseball games and Kelly’s dance recitals. Although it was difficult for her to see her great-grandchildren play in sporting events, she will be happily watching them from above.

A memorial service will be held at Mill Swamp Baptist Church on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at a reception luncheon held in the Family Life Center immediately following the service.
