LTC (Ret) Edward Christian Kraft, III

LTC (Ret) Edward Christian Kraft, III, 59, of Smithfield passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.  He was the son of the late LTC Edward C. Kraft, Jr and Shirley Kay Mayer.  Mr. Kraft is survived by his wife of 36 years, MariaCristina L. Kraft; sons, Mitchell Christian Kraft (Lauren) and David James Kraft; and a sister, Jill Petersen (Alan); and a host of extended family in Lancaster, PA.  He was also preceded on death by a sister, Jean K. Davis.  He retired after serving proudly in the U S Air Force for 20 years, serving in Gulf War.  He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, which he learned from his father and shared with his children.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA, with burial to follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
