Loretta Celine Adelhock

Loretta Celine Adelhock, 79, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edward Connolly and Mary Gertrude Royals Connolly. Celine loved everyone and had a special place in her heart for children. Affectionately known as “Ama,” she worked as a Nanny for many years and for many families.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Arthur Adelhock. She is survived by her daughters, Loretta DeHart York (Greg) and Bridget Anne Cayton (Ray); a son, Mark Edward DeHart (Lisa); grandchildren, Kristen, Hayley (Josh), Hannah, Noah and Natalie; great grandchildren, Chadwick (C.J.) and Monica; sisters, Julia C Mabry, Mary Elizabeth Sentman and Teresa A Gauvin; brothers, Paul E. Connolly Jr, James R. Connolly, and Charles S Connally. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William M. Connolly and Marshall A. Connolly.
