My wife Christina, our daughter Jenna, and I would like to share the moment of joy we experienced with the birth of our angel, Joy Helen Ferree.
At only twenty-two weeks, she was in such a hurry to be a part of our loving family that the world could not keep up with her. She passed through our world for just a moment on October 3rd at 8 am, bringing joy and strength to everyone she met. For that day, I placed our shield over her to protect her heart from the troubles we face each day as we serve our community as members of the Newport News Police family.
As police officers and guardians of our community, we are no strangers to grief, and in recent years, we have experienced more than our share of grieving. So, instead of grief or condolences, we ask that you take a moment to find a little bit of Joy in your everyday life and share it with those around you.
We want to thank all who I've reached out to for strength and encouragement over the past few months. Your kindness and empathy have given me the strength to support my family through this moment. And thank you to all who will continue to lend their strength to us and others in need.
Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
Share a moment of Joy,
Jeff Ferree Newport News Police Department Central Precinct, Watch III-B
