Jeffrey Ray Wardsworth

Jeffrey Ray Wardsworth, age 52, of Lake Lure, NC passed away on February 3, 2025 at Advent Health in Columbus, NC. 

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Hassell Ray Wardsworth, Jr., and his mother, Connie Pittman Wardsworth of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

 He is survived by his wife, Dottie (Dot) Floyd Wardsworth of Lake Lure, NC, his stepmother, Janie Allen Wardsworth of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and his beloved dogs Sophie, Alfie Bo, and Ramsey.

 Jeff was an avid golfer, he loved to fish, and he was an active member of Fairfield Mountains Chapel, where he previously served as an Elder. His passion in life was to help those in need and he faithfully served as a volunteer with Kairos Ministry in NC State Prisons and with Freedom Life Ministries in Marion, NC.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff’s honor can be made to Freedom Life Ministries, 130 N. Logan Street, Marion, N.C., 28752.

 Graveside services will be held at St. Luke’s Memorial Park Cemetery, 14477 Benn's Church Blvd, in Smithfield, VA 23430, on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Anderson officiating. 

A gathering will be held at Fairfield Mountains Chapel at a later date to honor his memory.
