Fay B Major

Fay B. Major, 88, of Smithfield passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was the daughter of the late William Eugene Bennett and Beulah Disher Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin Edward Major, Jr. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Jeffers (Scott), Pixie Jones (Windy), Ben Major, III (Laura) and Gene Major (Julie); nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Fay was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed watching all their sports and activities. She loved her sparkle, and cherished her many special friendships. A devout Christian, she was steadfast in her faith and found comfort in her beliefs.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, 4 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at a Reception following the service in the Family Life Center at the church. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Riverside Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Fay’s final days.
